Luoding (罗定) or Loting is a county-level city in the northwest of Guangdong province, near the border with Guangxi. The population of the city was about 1.3 million in 2016. It is one of the most economically and culturally developed areas in the ancient Lingnan region, which has created and preserved a rich and splendid cultural heritage.

Luoding is the hometown of Nanjiang culture in China, and the hometown of folk culture and art in Guangdong Province. Nanjiang culture has a long history. Folk art and culture, including Takishu song, Dongshan ancestral temple fair, Hegu glutinous rice, Luoding douchi brewing skills, and Luoding wrinkled gauze fish rot production skills, are well-preserved.

Luoding River (Nanjiang) is an important link between the Central Plains and the Maritime Silk Road and an ancient post road, while Luoding is the most important node on the Nanjiang River. The Luoding River basin (including its tributaries) is all within the territory of Zhili Prefecture in Ancient Luoding.

Luoding City has a relatively complete high-speed, railway, national highway and air transportation system.

Luoding is just off highway G324, one of the secondary routes from Guangzhou into Guangxi. From Guangzhou take G80, the main route toward Nanning, then branch off onto G324 at Yunfu.

Local specialties include Luoding rice, Luoding wrinkle fish rot, Silun bamboo steamer, Luoding cinnamon, all of which are Chinese geographical indication products, as well as Luoding Meicai, Luoding tempeh, cinnamon oil, Luoding star anise, Luoding Tianzi Tea, Qigensong Carambola, and Three Yellow Chicken.
