Alvin is in the Gulf Coast of Texas. Home of the Pitcher Nolan Ryan. It's about 20 miles southeast of Houston, at the intersections of SH-35 and SH-6.

- Nolan Ryan fans be sure to catch the statue of him. The McDonald's on Highway 35 at the south end of Alvin is replete with Nolan Ryan garb.

Brazoria county is a "wet" county. It used to be "damp" which meant you could only buy beer with low alcohol content. The availability is still somewhat lacking, so consider going to Galveston County for a better selection.
