city in Iraq
Amarah is a city with about 1.2 million inhabitants in Southern Iraq and the capital of Maysan province.
Understand edit
A relatively recent city, Amarah was founded in 1860 as a military outpost by the Ottoman government in order to pacify the area, which until then had been considered quite lawless.
