  • 1 Old Town Hall and History Museum, 47 West Main Street, Babylon. The original town hall, constructed in 1917. Now the Town of Babylon History Museum, with three floors of exhibits on town history    
  • 2 Robert Moses State Park, 600 Robert Moses State Parkway, Babylon. Park including an ocean beach Captree State Park and the undeveloped Gilgo State Park are nearby.    
  • 3 American Airpower Museum, 1230 New Highway, East Farmingdale, +1 631-293-6398, . Memorial Day to Labor Day: 10:30AM-5PM; Labor Day to Memorial Day: 10:30AM-4PM. Closed New Year's Day, Christmas Day, Thanksgiving and Easter Sunday. The museum has several historical military aircraft from the 1930s through the 1960s, and also two tanks and a machine gun. It is also possible for a membership donation of $320 to have a simulated experience of being involved in the D-Day landing in Normandy, as you are briefed as if you are about to take part in the mission and then flown on a C-47 that participated in the actual operation. Adults: $10; Seniors (over 65) and veterans with proper ID: $8; Children 4-12: $5; Under 4 years old: Free.    
  • 4 Long Island National Cemetery. A United States National Cemetery

  • 1 Town of Babylon Ocean Beaches. The Town of Babylon has three beaches on the eastern half of Jones Beach Island: Gligo Beach, Cedar Beach, and Overlook Beach. Residents need a season recreation permit, while non-residents must purchase a daily permit. Overlook Beach is residents-only.    
  • 2 Gilgo State Park. An undeveloped park accessible only by 4 wheel drive only. Requires a permit.    
  • 3 Richard L. Brooks Memorial Park (Oak Beach Park). A small waterfront park. It is mainly lawn and has about 200 feet of sandy beach and a pier, but it is free. Site of the former Oak Beach Inn, reputed to be the birthplace of the Long Island iced tea.
