Get in

edit

The distance from the capital, Dhaka, to Barguna Sadar is 247 km, while from the divisional city, Barisal, it is 90 km. Since this district is a coastal and riverine area, the most convenient mode of transportation to any location here is by waterway. However, road travel is also possible, though it requires ferry crossings. Barguna has no rail or air connectivity, so these two modes of transport are not available.

By road

Every day, buses operated by companies such as Sakura, Sugandha, Mia, Abdullah, and Patuakhali Express depart from Gabtoli and Sayedabad in Dhaka in the morning, afternoon, and night, traveling via the Padma Bridge to reach Barguna. Alternatively, private vehicles can be hired for the journey.

  • From Chittagong, Saudia Bus operates to Barguna, with a fare of Tk650

As an alternative route, the Barguna-Betagi-Mirzaganj-Bakerganj-Dapdapia road is used for travel to and from Barisal, though it is less frequently used due to ongoing road repairs.

From Patharghata in Barguna, road connections are available via Kakachira-Shatoker-Mathbaria-Bhandaria-Pirojpur to Bagerhat and the Khulna divisional city.

From Barguna District, one can reach Barisal or Khulna and travel to any part of the country.
