Bazhong

Bazhong is a prefecture city in Sichuan. In 2020, the prefecture had a population of 2.7 million, with about a million in Bazhou district, the centre of the city.

Understand

Bazhong City, also known as Bacheng, is located in the northeastern part of Sichuan Province. It is located in the Daba mountainous area, adjacent to the Qinling-Huaihe River line. It is adjacent to Dazhou City in the east, Nanchong City in the south, Guangyuan City in the west and Hanzhong City in Shaanxi Province in the north. The terrain of the region is high in the north and low in the south, with a subtropical monsoon climate and four distinct seasons.

• 6 Southern Cliff Buddhist Sculptures (南龛摩崖造像), Nankan Mountain, 5 km south of the city (Taxi or drive). These stone carvings began in the Sui Dynasty and continued through the Tang Dynasty, and along with the Song Dynasty continued through the Republican era, very interesting to see some of the stone statues and learn about history through them.
