Bharmour

Bharmour, is in Himachal Pradesh, approximately 60 km from Chamba. It was an ancient capital of chamba riyasat (state). Meru verman who is said to have migrated from Aayodhya founded this riyasat in 6th century. One of his successors Sahil verman shifted his capital to Chamba. Chaurasi mandir (84 temple complex) is the main attraction of this town. Other places near by are bharmani temple, chattradi, hadsar etc.

It is said that Shahil verman's accession of Bhrampura (ancient name of Bahrmour) 84 saints came there when coming back from Manimahesh. They were greatly pleased with the King’s hospitality.

A PWD Rest-House and a lodge are located adjacent to the site. A number of hotels, sarais and a mountaineering hut are planned for the surrounding area.
