Biligiriranga Hills is also known in-short as B R Hills. It is a wild life sanctuary in Yelandur and Kollegal Taluks of Chamarajanagar District of Karnataka. The Ranganatha swamy temple is located on this hill. This hill and the surrounding forest get the name from this Hindu temple. Main deity is Lord Vishnu ( Ranga).

Biligiri Ranganatha Swami Temple situated at the top of the hill. Dodda Sampige Mara ( Big Champaka Tree ) which is worshipped by local tribals ( Kadu Kuruba and Jenu Kuruba).

As this place is within reserved forest, eateries provide vegetarian food only.

Encounter with wild animals like Elephant, Gaur (Indian Bison), Tiger and Leopard are possibilities when on the way and in the forest. Carry Torch, water, eatables, and mosquito repellent with you. There are restriction of time for entry and exit of this wild life sanctuary, confirm the time from the local forest department office.
