Cangzhou (沧州 Cāngzhōu) is a city of 7.4 million people (2015) in the south-eastern part of Hebei province in China,It is also the largest residence of the Hui people in North China.It is the southern gateway between Beijing and Tianjin.

Cangzhou is the city with the longest length of the Beijing Hangzhou Grand Canal, accounting for one eighth of the total length of the canal.

Cangzhou was historically the northern starting point of the "Maritime Silk Road". Cangzhou is one of the birthplaces of Chinese martial arts. Cangzhou is named after its proximity to the Bohai Sea. During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, it was the territory of Yan, Qi, Jin, Zhao and other countries. During the Qin Dynasty, it belonged to Julu County and Luobei County. In the Han Dynasty, it belonged to Jizhou and Youzhou. In the Qing Dynasty, it initially belonged to Hejian Prefecture of Zhili Province, and later most of it belonged to Tianjin Prefecture.
