Bridge over the Rio Doce in Colatina

Understand edit

It offers great potential for ecotourism, as there are beautiful landscapes and well-kept farms in the countryside. Highlight for São Pedro Frio, at 600 meters of altitude, 40 km from the Center, which offers visitors a mountain climate. It is worth visiting the lakes of Limão, Pau Gigante, Coroa Verde, Barbados, Oil, Patrão Mor. In addition to the Oito, Onze, Vinte and Onça waterfalls.

Every afternoon, when the sun approaches the mountainous horizon, the sky and the bed of the Rio Doce merge in gold and red and make up a magnificent sunset. The famous sunset of the city, which is known as Princesa do Norte, represents the postcard, along with the monument of Christ the Redeemer, which is 33 meters high, located in the upper part of the municipality, in the Bela Vista neighborhood.
