Get in

edit

Deosai National Park can be accessed from two main routes: Skardu north and Astore west. From Skardu, travelers will pass Satpara Lake, the last point with any villages, before reaching the vast open plains of Deosai. After Satpara, the route is uninhabited until Chilam Chowki, where a small summer hotel offers tea and yogurt, providing a welcome refreshment. From Astore, the route takes you through scenic mountain valleys, perfect for adventurous travelers. Due to the rugged terrain, a 4WD vehicle is recommended for either route, especially in early summer when snowmelt can affect paths. Consider a guided tour for added safety and a richer experience.

Fees and permits
