Understand edit

Underwater pinnacle in the waters outside Saba

Saba is a small volcanic island of the Netherlands Antilles south of Saint Martin and differs from most other Caribbean islands as it features steep drop-offs and submerged pinnacles that are virtually untouched.

Saba is one of the top destinations in the Caribbean to go Scuba diving due to its sheer underwater cliffs, pinnacles, and the multitude of diving locations surrounding the island that each offer a unique experience. The people in the local dive shops are very friendly and great at teaching inexperienced people how to dive. They can provide a discover scuba resort course to get you into the water on a supervised dive, or train and certify as Open Water Diver so they can dive without an instructor present. So even if you've never gone diving before, you can dive and get certified in Saba.

To protect the sea around the island, the "Saba Marine Park" has been established. There are 26 designated dive spots. Dive sites include:

  • Diamond Rock
  • Outer Limits
  • Tent Reef, Tent Reef Deep and Tent Reef Wall
  • 3rd Encounter
  • Man o' War shoals
  • Torrens Point
  • Twilight Zone
  • Core Gut
  • Shark shoals
  • Green Island
  • The John
  • Hole in the Corner
