Dounan (斗南鎮) is a township that in Yunlin County, Taiwan.

editThe original name of Dounan is Taliwu (他里霧), a name taken from one of the branches of an aboriginal tribe. The development of Taliwu had started since the Ming Dynasty, when Koxinga came to Taiwan.

edit- 1 Former Dounan Police Precinct Building (斗南分局舊辦公廳舍), No. 170, Zhongshan Road, ☏ +88655978391. An historic building that once served as the police headquarters for the area. There is not much to see or do inside, but the building is worth stopping by for a few photos.
Temples
edit- 2 Dounan Shun'an Temple (斗南順安宮), No. 126, Section 1, Chang'an Road, ☏ +88655972541. 08:00-18:00. A temple that is primarily dedicated to Mazu that was constructed in 1736.
- 3 Slta-vana Temple (寒林寺), 630 Zhongzheng Rd, ☏ +88655973055. A temple dedicated to the victims of the Japanese occupation of Taiwan.
Museums
edit- 4 Yunlin Environmental Education Pavilion (雲林環境教育館), Nanchang Road, ☏ +88655962507. W Th Sa Su 10:00-18:00. As the name suggests, it's a small indoor educational exhibit of some of the flora and fauna of the surrounding area. Most of the material is provided in Chinese only.

Sport
edit- 2 Yunlin County Stadium (雲林縣政府體育場). A multi-use stadium that is able to hold 10,000 people.
