Eastern Australia

Eastern Australia refers to the eastern jurisdictions of Australia and encompasses the following regions:

Queensland
New South Wales
Victoria
Tasmania
Australian Capital Territory (i.e. Australia's capital city Canberra)
Jervis Bay Territory

However, the term can be ambiguous, pending the following reasons:

Queensland is not always considered as "eastern", and sometimes Eastern Australia can only mean the jurisdictions that use AEST/AEDT time zone (New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania and two other territories).
South Australia is also sometimes considered to be part of Eastern Australia as Adelaide is considered to be one of the four state capitals of Eastern Australia.
Sometimes Eastern Australia only refers to mainland states and territories, so Tasmania is sometimes not counted
