Eastern Kenya is a region of Kenya bordering Somalia and Ethiopia. It includes all of Northeastern Province and some of the Coast and Eastern Provinces. Eastern Kenya is home to Kenya's Somali minority ethnic population, and to many Somali refugees.

  • 3 Malka Mari National Park   — semi-arid bushland and scrubby grassland with riparian woodland that is habitat for the Somali giraffe, crocodile, hyena, agama lizards, antelopes, vultures, dik-dik, Nile crocodiles, zebra and genet

Large herds of elephants can be seen around the crater lakes in the Marsabit National Park.

Rahole National Reserve is one of the best places in Kenya to see hippos and crocodiles.

Arawale National Reserve is a critical refuge for a range of wildlife species including four globally threatened species: hirola, Grevy's zebra, East African wild dog and East African cheetah.
