Trains run to 1 Exeter Station   from Campbelltown and Goulburn around every two hours on weekends, or every hour during weekdays. Regional (booked) trains do not stop here. You can take bikes on the train.

The town only consists of two shops next to the station.

You can access other Southern Highlands destinations by train every two hours or so. You can cycle to Bundanoon (5 km) and onto the Morton National Park (another 2km).

A car would be convenient to see much of the surrounding area, and to get something to eat after 3PM.

Exeter is renowned for is gardens, and pretty country town feel. But unless there is an open garden that weekend, its hard to see unless you peer over peoples fences. There are not any always open gardens here, but you can walk the streets of the town easily.
