  • Rafting. A portion of Xiuguluan River, from Rueisuei Bridge to Changhong Bridge, is the most popular destination for rafting in Taiwan.
  • Shitiping (Shiti Fishing Port). Shitiping is the best place for whale watching in Hualien County. There are 3 whale watching ships in the port, which together can carry almost 150 people.
  • Jici Beach (Jiqi Beach). A scenic crescent-shaped beach popular for swimming in the summer and surfing in the winter.
  • 1 Tropic of Cancer Marker, Provincial Highway No. 11, +886 3 8671326. A white landmark has been built to mark the Tropic of Cancer passing through Hualien County here. The most popular time to visit the landmark is noon on summer solstice, when the sun is right above you and does not cast a shadow. There are parking spots and public toilets nearby.
