• 1 Ambositra — renowned for its traditional decorative paper-making, and the centre of Madagascar's wood-carving industry
• 2 Ambalavao — a city near the Anja Reserve, a forest that is full of ring-tailed lemurs
• 3 Fianarantsoa — a gateway city for transportation to many other places in central and southern Madagascar and for the FCE train to Manakara

• 1 Andringitra National Park — one of the most biologically diverse and endemic places in all of Madagascar; over 100 species of birds, over 50 species of mammals, and 55 species of frogs are known to inhabit the park
