English: I knocked on its door because the sight of angels at the entrance made me wonder if there maybe was some religious group I’d overlooked so far in Ürgüp. Kind staff told me that was the wrong conclusion, but if I wanted, I could see some of its premises. These pictures are the result. I was astounded at the way the owner, who, I was told, also was the designer, had mixed styles and objects from widely different periods into an eclectic ensemble which I liked. Some pictures I later identified as probably copies, but some objects, for instance the ambo’s and other religious objects from several cultures, looked original. And even more astounded when I was shown the swimming pool, in a room dug from the rocks below the house, with it constant temperature of, I think, 27 degrees centigrade.
