English: This is a dish made from the batter containing rice and Urd daal. It is cooked in a specially crafted cook ware that has 'Guli', meaning pits(in Kannada). It makes tasty 'Guli Appam' that can be eaten during any meals. Commonly made during breakfast hours at Udupi , Mangalore and adjoining places of south Karnataka. It goes well with any dish including various Curry, 'Chatni' or even some pickle.
