Cette tapisserie est la première où les lissiers ont ajoutés des motifs à l'arrière-plan, jusque-là uni dans les tapisseries précédentes. Les motifs n'ont pas tous la même taille ; plus petits à gauche, ils s'agrandissent en allant vers la droite, montrant possiblement le travail de recherche des lissiers pour trouver la bonne taille de motifs.
