Summary
| Description | Très attendu par les familles des victimes, le mémorial du World Trade Center est une indéniable réussite. Réalisé sur le thème de l'absence et du silence, le mémorial est un jardin du souvenir planté de chênes blancs, entourant deux impressionnants bassins vides construits sur les empreintes mêmes des tours nord et sud. D'immenses chutes d'eau (9m de hauteur) tombent en cascade dedans, aspirées dans un puits central dont on ne voit pas le fond. Les noms des 2983 victimes des attentats de 2001 et 1993 sont gravés sur des parapets en bronze tout autour des bassins, non pas par ordre alphabétique, mais en fonction des liens entre les disparus. |
