DescriptionPanaji Church (3044129555).jpg
'Church of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception, Panaji, Goa. This elegant Church is reputed to be the oldest in Goa and was originally built as a chapel in 1541 and later rebuilt in 1619. The artistically pleasing four tired steps were added in 1841. The bell which adorns the tower was originally the “Bell of Inquisition” which famously tolled as ‘sinners’ including St. Thomas Christians from Kerala were marched in for Inquisition, torture and ‘purification’.'
