Antes de visitar a vila de Monforte, vindo do IP2, é obrigatório ver a ponte romana, construída entre os séculos II e IV d.C. É constituída por cinco arcos de volta perfeita de diferentes vãos, os quais diminuem de altura e largura do arco central para os laterais. O material de construção é o granito. Está classificada como imóvel de interesse público. Percorrendo a calçada do tabuleiro da ponte, encontra-se, na margem direita, uma placa informativa sobre este monumento, da responsabilidade do Ministério da Cultura. A jusante da ponte foi construído um açude.
