Frisia
cultural region in Germany and the Netherlands
Frisia is a coastal region along the southeastern corner of the North Sea. It is divided in the following sub-regions:
- Friesland (or West Frisia) — a province in the Netherlands
- Ommelanden — the region around the city of Groningen
- North Holland Peninsula — a region in North Holland that includes the region West Friesland
- West Frisian Islands — an island region in the north of the Netherlands
- East Frisia — a region in Lower Saxony
- East Frisian Islands — an islands region in Lower Saxony
- North Frisian Islands — an islands region in Schleswig-Holstein
- North Frisia — a region in Schleswig-Holstein
