Głogów is a city in Lower Silesian Voivodeship nowadays mostly known for copper mining. While city is one of oldest in Poland it was entirely destroyed during Second World War.

All sights can be managed in a 1 kilometer long walk. Though walking through the river bridge may be not very pleasant.

There is local transit operated by city though it is not of much use for tourists as buses run rarely. You can take a look at both page and schema.

  • 1 Głogów Castle (Zamek Książąt Głogowskich, Schloss Glogau), Brama Brzostowska 4. W-Su 10:00-17:00. City castle, first built as fortification in 13th century then changed its role to seat of local nobility, expanding in size and acquiring Baroque elements. Badly damaged during war and rebuilt.   • 2 Corpus Christi church (Kościół Bożego Ciała), Powstańców 1 (north-east of city centre). Church built in 15th century, and completely rebuilt in 18th century with Baroque architecture.   • 3 Collegiate Church (Kolegiata Wniebowzięcia Najświętszej Maryi Panny), plac Kolegiacki 10. One of the oldest churches in Poland built in 11th century. Its current Gothic look dates to the 15th century when the church was rebuilt. Badly damaged during war and renovated after 1988.   • 1 Odra Boulevard, Nadodrzańska (north of city centre, by the river). Leisure area with walking paths, playgrounds and fountains.
  • 1 Bistro 41, Rynek 41. Restaurant with Polish fare located by the market square. Rather generic, but has reasonable prices and some variety.

  • 1 Fuego Bar, Słodowa 42, +48 691 128 867. 14:00-22:00. Probably the largest bar in the city. Variety of drinks and some rather expensive food if you are hungry. Go to place for having a shot, watching sports or dancing. Sometimes there is also a DJ and you can rent a lodge.
