Hankey is situated in a citrus producing area in the Gamtoos River Valley. The town is mainly a residence for many of the citrus farmworkers and have little to offer tourists.

The spacious lounge provides enough place for relaxing and reading. There is also a campsite in a large grass-covered area surrounded by indigenous trees. Electricity is available in the ablution facility.
