NJ Transit provides bus transportation from:

communities along U.S. Route 9 from Lakewood to Old Bridge, and from the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York City via the 131, 135 and 139 bus routes,
from Newark Liberty International Airport and the rest of Newark on the 67 route,
from Jersey City on the 64 and 67 routes, and with local service on the 836 route.

Academy Bus Line's route 9 provides service from the Financial District in Lower Manhattan.
