Malayo-Polynesian language spoken by the Kangeanese ethnic group, native to the Kangean Archipelago
Kangean (known natively as either besa Kangean or besa Kangayan) is an insular Javanic language spoken by the Kangeanese ethnic group, native to the Indonesian island of Kangean within the Kangean Archipelago region in northern Bali Sea. There are three main language variety group (dialectal group) of Kangean language, and the language variety of Kangean spoken in the western region of Kangean Island somehow closely related to the Sumenep Madurese.
