city in Kono District, Sierra Leone
Koidu (or Sefadu) is a city in Sierra Leone.
Understand
editKoidu is the heart of the diamond mining region. Consequently it suffered very badly during the war. Once it had very good infrastructure, with nice buildings, water/electricity supply. All of these were destroyed during the war. Roads are dirt, even in the centre of town. Koidu has missed out on the reconstruction that has taken place throughout the rest of Sierra Leone.
