By Bus: Kolar and other towns like Bangarapet, KGF are connected by road to the other parts of Karnataka state. Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation(KSRTC) runs buses from state capital Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mangalore to these towns.There are also buses from other places to Kolar district on daily basis.

By Railway: Indian Railways has connected towns of Kolar district by rail services. There are passenger train services from Bengaluru to Kolar, Bangarapet , Champion reef and Marikuppam.

Visit Kolar Gold Fields ( KGF ) now an abandoned gold mine. There are many small towns within KGF like Oorugam, Robertsonpet, Andersonpet and Champion reef. We can see cyanide mountain, Edgar Shaft, abandoned mining equipment, machinery at these places. Also there is National Institute of Rock Mechanics (NIRM) at Champion reef.
