editKumo is a town in Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State, Nigeria. Akko has a population of 338,000 in 2006.
Kumo is the administrative headquarters of Akko Local Government council and one of the largest towns of the traditional Gombe emirate. The people of Kumo are popular for peanuts (groundnuts), cotton, and corn (maize) and as a local trade centre for the sorghum, millet, cowpeas, cassava (manioc), peanuts, goats, cattle, sheep, fowl, horses, donkeys, and cotton cultivation.
The town is made up of the Tangale, Fulani, and Hausa peoples of the surrounding area.
