Kvitfjell[dead link] is a world class skiing destination located in Ringebu, Norway.

Kvitfjell Alpinanlegg was built for the 1994 Lillehammer Olympics. Since then, it has become one of the best and most modern ski resorts in Northern Europe. Kvitfjell is located just 2.5 hours north of the Oslo Airport, along the main railway and highway. At an altitude of over 800m above sea level, the view from the lifts and central station leaves a lasting impression of the beautiful landscape. Kvitfjell offers challenging slopes for both beginners and experienced skiers.

- 1 Ringebu Stave Church (Ringebu stavkyrkje), South of Ringebu village (its 21 km from Kvitfjell; leave E6 at sign). One of the few remaining of Norway's once countless stave churches. Built around 1200 AD. 50 kr (interior).

During high season, Kvitfjell offers a variety of activities to suit the needs of all guests, young and old. For those who enjoy speed, they can arrange ski races, or even one of their popular “Romperaciade” races. For those wanting something more relaxing, they offer horse-drawn sleigh rides through the Kvitfjell forests. While you’re there, why not enjoy a nice meal with a great view?

Kvitfjell boasts Olympic quality slopes in a scenic environment. This is not to say it isn't suited for beginners. Au contraire; the west side of the mountain was just developed for that exact purpose! There are hills for every level of skier or snowboarder.

There are many choices at Kvitfjell. Some of the dining opportunities allow you to organize a group meal at a cozy mountain farm, in a tipi-tent, or at a nature site selected by a guide. There are also a few after skis where you can enjoy home made sausages and goulajs soup, or for a more formal affair at GudbrandsGard Hotell's specialty restaurant. You can also have a meal at the lodge.
