Mapungubwe National Park is in Limpopo, South Africa. It's inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, and is a part of the Greater Mapungubwe Transfrontier Conservation Area.

editMapungubwe National Park is centred on the Mapungubwe Hill, once the capital of the eponymous kingdom. The landscape consists of sandstone formations and different kinds of forest and the park is also an archaeological site.
Flora and fauna
editIn the national park you can encounter animals emblematic of Africa such as elephants, lions, Nile crocodiles, giraffes and antelopes. There are around 400 bird species in the park. The vegetation is dominated by baobab trees.
