Mark is a municipality in Sjuhäradsbygden with just over 33,000 inhabitants. It includes the towns of Fritsla, Horred, Kinna, Skene, Sätila and Örby as well as several smaller villages.

Heartland of the once-thriving Swedish textile industry, Mark has come to be known as Tygriket - the Textile kingdom. Even if production has largely moved elsewhere, Mark is still a destination to shop for high-quality textiles. Also known for picturesque landscapes, it's a popular getaway for cycling or canoeing along the Viskan river.

Hiking and cycling along the many prepared trails is very popular. Most trails are between 15-50 km long with camping facilities along the way. Canoeing is another popular activity.

  • 1 Assbergs raviner. A small nature reserve preserving the traditions grazing ground in one the many ravines. Best visited during late spring or summer during the full bloom and when animals are let out. There's a half-kilometre nature trail adapted for disabled visitors.
  • 1 Ekelundhuset, Varbergsvägen 442, Horred, . Factory outlet of Ekelund Weavers, a linen weavery that has supplied amongst others the Emperor of Japan with table clothing. Includes a small café and exhibition of the company's history.
  • 2 Kasthall Factory Outlet, Fritslavägen 42, +46 320 20 59 29.
  • 3 Skene Järn, Varbergsvägen 31, Skene, +46 320-19500, . One of southern Sweden's biggest ironmongerys. Skene Järn sells everything from nails to motorboats.
  • 1 Herr Ober, Nya Kinnavägen 2, Kinna, +46 320-14426.
  • 2 Café Skrädderiet, Kyrkogatan 5, Kinna, +46 320 15334. Located in a renovated tailor’s workshop Skrädderiet serves up homemade pies and pastries. There's live music on summer weekends in the small garden.
