McLean is a city in the Texas Panhandle. Due to a lack of growth in the area, the town is strikingly unchanged since the halcyon days of Route 66, providing photographic opportunities which make it a worthy stop for those following the Mother Road.

- McLean Prisoner of War Camp Site (outside of town on the grounds of the municipal airport). For three years during World War II, McLean hosted a prisoner of war camp which housed 3,000 Germans captured in Germany and north Africa. Some vestiges of the camp can be seen from the Texas historical marker at the roadside.
- Phillips 66 Gas Station (2 blocks west of Main St. on Old Route 66 Highway). Vintage gas station built in 1929, one of the first Phillips 66 gas stations in Texas. It has been lovingly preserved and is claimed to be the most photographed property along the entirety of Route 66.
