The Médanos terroir has unique conditions ideal for quality vineyards. The soil is very rich, and given its latitude (around parallel 39º South, where the Pampa region and Patagonia converge) vineyards receive long hours of sun light, which result in grapes with high sugar contents. Windy springs help develop thicker skins that contribute to the intense color of these wines.

  • Al Este Bodega y Viñedos, Km 732 on Ruta Nacional 22. open to the public for visits on week days and weekends. and winery, including wine tastings at the cellars and an opportunity to buy wines at wholesale prices. Offers high quality wines including Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Tannat, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc under the Al Este and Terrasabbia brands. The vineyard and winery with state of the art infrastructure and technology including the wine cellar where wines are aged in French and American oak.

  • Fiesta Nacional de Ajo - the National Garlic Festival takes place here every 3 years, drawing thousands of visitors to the area for the 3-day festival. It features popular music performers on multiple stages, and of course, food on 2 main patios and from many food trucks, all serving up foods flavored with everyone's favorite stinky plant.
