Neubrandenburg is just of the A 20, about 180 km north of Berlin, 100 km south of Stralsund.

The rail station is at the intersection of the Berlin – Stralsund and Lübeck – Stettin lines.

There is also an information centre near the village, the high medieval building complex "Castrum Turglowe" next to the club's hostel in Torgelow, and a shipyard for the construction of a cog in Ueckermünde.
