• 1 Dmitrov — a large, old town, famous for its beautiful kremlin
• 2 Dubna — the region's northernmost town is young with an impressive history of prominent work in the sciences, especially in physics, and is home to the world's largest Lenin statue
• 3 Khimki — a mid-sized city with a prominent historical role in the Soviet aerospace industry, but its mostly just a satellite city for Moscow commuters
