Northeastern Texas

Understand

Northeastern (or Northeast) Texas usually refers to the area within 50 miles of Texarkana and encompasses Bowie (Texarkana), Cass (Atlanta and Linden), Morris (Daingerfield), and Titus (Mount Pleasant) Counties. This region is largely anchored by the city of Texarkana, but otherwise is rural beyond it. It is bordered largely by the state of Arkansas, but shares smaller borders with Louisiana and Oklahoma in the southeast and northwest parts of the region respectively.

• Texarkana Regional Airport (TXK ^IATA) is the only airport with commercial service in this region, just across the state line in Texarkana, Arkansas. There is a sole airline, American Airlines, which has daily service to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
• The next nearest airports with commercial service are Longview's East Texas Regional Airport (GGG  ^IATA) and Shreveport Regional Airport (SHV ^IATA).

By rail

• The Amtrak's Texas Eagle passes through this region. There is a lone Amtrak station in Texarkana, connecting the city to Dallas and Little Rock, Arkansas.
