Ogidi is a town in Kogi State that is notable for its igneous rock mountain formations, a traditional art sector, hospitality, heroism, and a long history of self-reliance.

Ogidi is an ancient hamlet in Kogi State's Ijumu Local Government. Because of the various mountains and caves in the area, which they relied on to ward off invaders, the Ogidi people were traditionally stone worshippers.

The language spoken in Ogidi is the Okun dialect of Yoruba. The men are traditionally farmers and hunters, and the women are renowned for arts, craft and trading

  • 2 Itakpe Train Station Nigeria Railway Corporation has completed an inter-city line between Kogi, Abuja and Kaduna, where you can connect with the rest of the Nigerian rail system. Trains arrive and depart from Itakpe. The train service offers three types of such as Economy, First Class and Sleeper. The schedules and current fairs can be found on the Nigeria Railway Corporation website.

From Itakpe train station one can easily get a taxi/bus to Ogidi.
