Parintins is located on a fluvial island surrounded by several rivers in the Amazon rainforest. The only way to get to Parintins is by boat or plane.

By plane

1 Parintins-Júlio Belém Regional Airport (PIN ^IATA). The Parintins-Júlio Belém Regional Airport receives daily flights from Manaus via Voepass and flights via Azul 4 times a week (on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays). In June, due to the Parintins Festival, the number of flights to the city is increased by seasonal and extra flights. (updated Jul 2021)

By boat

• Fast motor launches leave Manaus in the early morning. 10 hours, R$ 120-150, two different comanies on alternating days.
• Several large riverboats a day from Manaus, about 30 hours.
• Two boats a day to Santarém, 14 hours, R$ 50. These are en-route from Manaus, often with delays.

• The Parintins Festival is one of Brazil's most famous and exciting festivals. Visitors arrive at the island of Parintins to witness the dispute played by the two "bumbás", groups of people, representing the two "bulls": "Caprichoso" and "Garantido", from the Parintins Cult.
