  • Black-neck crane Festival. An annual festival is held in November to celebrate the return of the birds from their summer nesting grounds in Tibet. There is a US$50 attendance fee, which is used to fund local community projects. (Warning: due the black-neck crane's endangered species status and also because of the special position it holds in Bhutanese folk law, deliberately injuring a bird is a crime punishable by life imprisonment.)
  • Phobjikha Valley trek is popular and takes three days to complete
