Pornainen is a municipality in the northeastern part of Uusimaa. The municipality is part of the Greater Helsinki sub-region.

Pornainen is a small municipality, around 60 km northeast of Helsinki and 18 km east of Järvenpää. The municipal center is known as Kirveskoski.

There are no other than smaller regional roads through Pornainen. The distance to the nearest highway, E75, is more than 15 kilometers when going in the direction of Järvenpää.

Finland in general lacks internet cafes as most of the people have connections in their home and in their pocket, and Pornainen is no exception. Many of the places of business do have wi-fi for customers (although it's usually called "WLAN"); ask the staff for details.
