Port Allen (Louisiana)

Port Allen is a town in the River Parishes region of Louisiana that sits directly across the Mississippi River from Baton Rouge and is the seat of West Baton Rouge Parish. It takes on a rather gritty and highly industrial character but has a few attractions.

Get in

If driving from Baton Rouge, you can take Exit 153 for LA 1 North once across the Horace Wilkinson I-10 bridge and it will put you there.

• 1 Water Heritage Trail (Port Allen Landing), 100 S River Rd #198, ☏ +1 225 931-7930. Promenade along the Mississippi River that is great for watching barge traffic or looking at the Baton Rouge skyline.
