Súðavíkurhreppur is the largest municipality in the Westfjords, and as such is connected and criss-crossed with numerable hiking paths both marked and un-marked which follow the historical routes the Vikings took whilst travelling the region and lead to and past many hidden wonders not just of the Westfjords but of Iceland as a whole.

Connected into the number 61 road are a variety of smaller roads taking one further into fjords or valleys. These roads can often be of a slightly lower standard then the so re recommend using the www.road.is website to check out their condition.
