Schoonhoven is a small town in the Dutch province of South Holland.

editFormerly the town was famous for its silver, hence its nickname Zilverstad ("Silver City"). The town is well worth visiting because of its many well-preserved medieval buildings.

- 1 Grote of Bartholomeüskerk. A 13th century church.
- 2 Weeshuis. A former orphanage built in the 19th century.
- 3 Stadhuis (Town Hall). Originally 15th-century building with 50 bell carillon.
- 4 Waag (Weigh House). Built in 1617 and extended in 1758. Since 1971 it has housed a restaurant.
- 5 Nederlands Zilvermuseum (Silver Museum), Kazerneplein 4. Tu-Sa 11.00-17.00, Su 12.00-17.00. €8.
- 6 Edelambachtshuis (former granary). Now contains a collection of jewelry spanning a few centuries.
- 7 Watertoren (Water tower). Built in 1901, now hosts yet another zilvergalerie.

- 10 Synagoge. A former synagogue — It was built in the 19th-century.
