Sidikalang
Sidikalang is a city in North Sumatra and it is also the capital of Dairi Regency. It is famous for its coffee (kopi sidikalang) and durian.

If you are a durian lover, watch out for durian season! Around the main street, you can spot durian trucks selling. The durian taste much better from other region.
A lot of chinese food shop are concentrated around near the corner between main street and 1 Jl. Sitellu Nempu.

- Subulussalam or Singkil in Aceh - minivans run from Jl. Ujung (between Jl. Gereja and Jl. SM Raja). The journey takes 2.5-3 hours and costs Rp30,000 (June 2015). The minivan is scheduled at 9am but doesn't leave before it's full.

- Lake Toba and Samosir island via the only connecting land bridge
- Sibolga - minivans run from Jl. Pakpak. The journey takes 6-7 hours and costs Rp70,000 (June 2015). There is a minivan every hour in the morning.
