Spring Hill is in Hernando County in West Central Florida. It is one of the larger cities in its region of the state, with a population estimated at 114,000 in 2017.

After existing as little more than a dot on the map for over a hundred years, in 1967 Spring Hill was founded by the Deltona Corporation and Mackle Brothers as a planned community similar to that of Deltona to the east.

You can scuba dive at Weeki Wachee Springs, although you won't be getting into the cave—this is the deepest aquifer in America, and the water leaving the caverns has a strong current. Your family can watch from the underwater theater. $13/adult, $8/child (ages 6-12).
