The area is famous for a wine called Schilcher. It comes as a white wine or rose. It has a slightly sour taste, somewhat similar to sauvignon blanc. Visit a Buschenshank (wine tavern) in the nearby area. These taverns offer locally produced food, mostly cold accompanied by local wines and a lively atmosphere.
